Proposals are solicited with emphasis on theoretical research, observational research, and instrumentation research, especially multidisciplinary projects at the boundaries between cosmology, astrophysics, nuclear physics, particle physics, extreme astrophysical conditions, plasma physics, computational physics, and/or general relativity. Use of facilities where LANL is a participating institution is highly desirable, e.g. Very Long Baseline Array, Sloan Digital Sky Survey, National Solar Observatory, etc.) as well as involvement in upcoming national facilities such as HAWC or LSST
